Abstract

This paper presents the application of a MATLAB-based framework that automates the modelling, analysis and design of anemometric steel guyed masts via the SAP2000 Open Application Programming Interface (OAPI). The design procedure is carried out in accordance with the current generation of Eurocode standards. The efficiency of the OAPI is demonstrated through the representative case study of the anemometric guyed mast structure under extreme wind and ice loads. It is shown that the developed OAPI efficiently finds the best initial mast layout according to different prescribed target objectives and comprehensibly accelerates the structural design process with minimizing the possibility of errors.
