This paper presents the key results of a comprehensive experimental, numerical and analytical study of concrete with a high limestone powder content. The testing programme covered all aspects, from mix design, through mechanical properties and durability parameters, to the behaviour of real-scale RC beams under sustained loading over 1000 days, including the development of cracks, strains in the concrete and reinforcement, as well as concrete shrinkage and creep. Results showed that concretes with over 55% of cement replaced by limestone powder can be produced and successfully applied in RC structures, with properties similar to conventional concrete. Based on own and available literature data, it was established that existing prediction models for material properties, durability and beam deflection, which were developed for conventional concrete, can, with certain corrections, also be applied to concretes with high limestone powder content.
